Review: Up to Bat

Up to Bat Up to Bat by Maggie Jane Schuler
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Maggie has done it again! This time with a suspenseful, slow-building romance. Oh. My. God! This book was fantastic!

I went in with no real idea what it was about, and was drawn in straight away. The characters are intriguing, especially the one playfully given the name, Thor. Now there’s a man I could happily spend my days watching.

I like that we are kept guessing throughout this book. Why is Adriana so peculiar? Who is Thor? And what the hell is going on? So many twists and turns, and lives intertwined. I was quite literally on the edge of my seat during parts of this book.

What I also love about this book is the development of the characters. Each has an interesting backstory, giving them depth, but they also grow throughout. Watching them come to terms with emerging emotions and working through their daily struggles makes them more believable and relatable.

I absolutely loved this book, and I can’t wait for the next instalment! But until then, I will be sitting in the corner, patiently waiting for the answers I crave.
